Meccanica believes that our most important assets are our people. We maintain an active training and development program to ensure our capabilities reflect our customer’s requirements.
Our CNC equipment portfolio includes:
- DMG Mori NLX 2500/700 Y CNC lathe, and
- DMG Mori NV 5000 machining centre.
This is complemented by a range of conventional machine tools, including:
- Bridegeport turret milling machines,
- Colchester lathes with a maximum turning diameter of 600mm and length of 2,000mm,
- Mechanical presses with capacities up to 30T, and
- Certified MIG, TIG and electric arc welding services.
Meccanica values the efficiency and quality that CNC machining provides, combined with the flexibility of conventional machining for low-volume projects.
Customer specific processes are routinely developed to relevant Australian and Defence standards, including:
- Trivalent conversion coatings that match or exceed hexavalent based coatings in Space environments,
- Manganese phosphate coating, and
- Aeroglaze Z306 high emissivity optical coatings.
Meccanica routinely machines the following materials:
- 6000 and 7000 series aluminium,
- Magnesium,
- High tensile steels including AISI 4140 and AISI 4340,
- Titanium Ti6Al4V,
- Invar, and
- TZM molybdenum alloy.
